(More customer reviews)I am a speech-language pathology student. I discovered this book while preparing a presentation on the topic of auditory stimuli in aural rehabilitation. I would highly recommend it to anyone who works with hearing-impaired children, and it is especially good for students and clinicians who work in the schools. It clearly explains how to interpet an audiogram and use it for planning therapy. Best of all, there are many case studies of how the information can be applied to specific children. It includes many therapy tasks and ideas for incorporating auditory-verbal exercises into whole language therapy.Though not apparent from the title, it is directed toward the auditory-verbal school of thought, so would not be appropriate for therapy using manual language approaches. It would also be a good resource for parents of hearing-impaired infants for activities that they could do at home, and for better understanding of their child's impairment. It is well-organized and easy to read. I highly recommend this book.
