Nexear 200 AFC Digital Hearing Aid Review

(More customer reviews)This is my fourth hearing aid, having had a few mishaps in the past. However, this one is far and away the best of all of them. The sound is excellent and though the battery is smaller that the others I have encountered, it still lasts about a week.
My hearing is terrible when there is background noise and this works very well, amplifying close by sounds, especially voices so I can hear them clearly instead of constantly asking people to repeat what they said.
It also has a small tag which helps to pull the hearing aid out of your ear which is pretty handy. I wholeheartedly recommend this product, especially to those like me who cannot hear well when in an environment with a noisy background!

The over the ear type with the tubes work ok, and might even be better than the mini-canal type, for me as they are unobtrusive and seem to amplify only the higher freqencies.
The quality of the product I recieved but did not order is good.

I'm not that deaf, but I miss consonents quite a bit, but this makes sounds definitely louder, and in the higher range, where I need it. I've tried regular cutting edge hearing aids that are computer regulated to match my specific hearing loss, but my trial only lasted a few days because I was bothered by the creaking of the floors and the clattering of dishes and tableware, which I did not hear before. With my Medicare discount they still cost me a few thousand out of pocket for a five thousand dollar item, and this is only $400 and you don't have to change batteries. It took a while to get the charger to work, as you have to insert it in place very carefully and precisely, but once I got it charged overnight, it fit into my ear OK and amplified OK, and I could adjust the volume myself instead of having to go to the audiologist and have it adjusted with a computer. I only bought one hearing aid, not two, and am in process of trying it out. So far I used it at a play, where I often miss the words, but this time I missed fewer words and felt better about the experience. It is frustrating when the rest of the audience is laughing at a joke, and I miss it, time and time again!

(More customer reviews)I am deaf in one ear and have severe hearing loss in the other. My condition is getting worse with time. I have worn hearing aids for fifteen years. For seven years, I have worn a very expensive state of the art aid. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the inability to hear. I sent the aid in to get it rebuilt and then had it reprogramed to be sure it was in optimal condition. There was little improvement and a $200 bill. I tried another new top of the line hearing aid. It was no help. I decided to order an Acoustitone Pro so I would have a back up. I cannot be without a hearing aid. I was immediately impressed with the Acoustitone and have been wearing it ever since it came. It is better than anything I have tried. I just ordered another one as a back up as I do not want to have to go back to the expensive aid. The expensive aid may have some advantage in certain situations, but overall it is not as good. I wear my own ear mold as the ones that come with the aid made my ear sore. They did, however, work better than my custom ear mold. The problem may be my ear or it might just be a matter of getting used to it. I would caution anyone who has never worn a hearing aid, that there is no such thing as an aid that will restore your natural hearing. If you ever find such a thing, I would be willing to pay dear for it. A hearing aid is like a flashlight. It is terribly inadequate, but indispensable in the dark. You will never stop longing for the breaking of day. The Acoustitone Pro has been a real help to me.

(More customer reviews)Well all I really have to say is wow. A digital hearing aid this cheap? Just simply amazing. And it is very tiny as well, I'd say maybe half or so the size of a Nexear. I mean look at the picture of it next to a dime, if you can find a picture of one the Nexear's next to a dime, just the end of it with the battery door is the size of the dime. When I say this thing is small, I mean it. Its almost barely noticeable in your ear. Oh and did I mention sound quality? Simply amazing digital clarity. You really owe it to yourself to even just try one of these out.
