(More customer reviews)I bought these to use for hearing protection while shooting rifles, because muff type hearing protectors interfere with my cheek weld. The protection works great--if you leave the little flaps open, they will close automatically when noise spikes to high levels. If you are around constant noise (running large equipment, say) you can put the little flaps in and it gives a constant high level of protection.
My only complaint with these is that they tend to slowly work their way out of my ear canal. It's not a big deal, but my worry is that I won't notice the slow increase to the sound level and could potentially cause the damage these are meant to stop. So I just make sure I push them in good every 5 or 10 minutes.
