(More customer reviews)Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy this book unless you love to waste money...(...)
At first sight I had no idea that this "book" was something that I actually ordered and PAID FOR, because I truly thought that this was a supplement to the other real book I bought that came in this order. This "book" would not NEAR make up even a halfway decent SMALL pamphlet! I honestly cannot believe that someone published this! It is about 18 pages long, and about a third of that is an imaginary "hearing transcript" made up by the author. Then, two pages are made up "Judge's Questions" (As in what is your name, address, etc.), and a few more are a made up "check sheet", plus you have an Introduction, Table of Contents, etc. To be totally honest, there MAY be 4 or 5 pages of "information", and that was all extremely basic and obviously gleaned from SSA pamphlets! (In fact, the cover states that this is "Based on material from the U.S. Department of Labor").
At first sight of this book I was confused in that as I said, I thought it was a supplement to a real book, then I was dumbfounded that this was actually considered a BOOK, then I was enraged that I was taken as a fool, and then I finally had to laugh, because the joke was really on me! I mean, surely I would have known better had I looked at the description to see how many pages the thing was (and, no matter what is said in the description, there is truly only about 20 pages total that have any writing on them, about a good third of that is some imaginary questions that would be obvious to anyone anyway, and there MAY BE a half dozen pages of the most simplistic information that I have ever seen tried to be pawned off as something in any way useful).
There is absolutely nothing to be gained by anyone in buying this book except the recipients of the fees. There is no way that I can stress to you how ridiculous this thing is unless you actually see it for yourself....do yourself a favor and buy Nolo's Guide to Social Security Disability: Getting and Keeping Your Benefits. I bought it the same time that I bought this tiny, useless, half-pamphlet thing, and I for a while I honestly thought that this thing was a supplement for the NOLO book! Until I looked at my receipt and saw that I was charged for two books, and THEN only after I emailed Amazon to report that I had only received one book on a two book order did I finally realize that this thing was actually being pawned off AS A BOOK!!
Trust me, if you call or visit a SSA office and get copies of their little pamphlets, and you will have much, much, much, MUCH more than you would have with this thing!!
I should have looked a little closer when I saw that no one had reviewed this "book" yet. I was probably the first person stupid enough to buy this rip-off! This thing is one sixteenth of an inch thick, and that is counting front and back cover!!
I was EXTREMELY disappointed that I was forced to give this rip-off scam sheet one star, but evidently that is the minimum. One star is giving this junk FAR TOO MUCH credit!
