(More customer reviews)Contrary to an earlier review, Dr. Stanley does not profess to be the only speaker for Jesus Christ, instead, he encourages the reader to listen to Jesus Christ.
The chapter's contents are as follows:
1. Is God Still Talking?
2. God's Goal in Communicating
3. How God Gets Our Attention
4. Identifying the Voice of God
5. Factors That Determine How God Communicates
6. Are You Listening?
7. Sitting Before the Lord
8. Your Spiritual Mind Set
9. Hindrances to Hearing
10. Listening and Obeying
11. The Life That Listens - A Well-Built Life
Personally, I'd rather listen to the Holy Spirit any day - He is infinitely wiser than any human being, including Deepak Chopra!
Read and be encouraged to listen to the Holy Spirit - God wants a relationship with you more than you do with Him and He will speak if you only listen! The book serves as an excellent guide to point the reader to Jesus Christ.
Highly recommended!

After becoming a Christian, believers discover the joy of God's voice, but often the purity and freshness of that initial experience becomes clouded by the daily routine of life. In How to Listen to God Dr. Charles Stanley helps readers rediscover how to distinguish God's voice from all other voices around them, and how to joyfully and obediently respond. Dr. Stanley uses personal experiences from his life and ministry to discuss: why God wants to communicate with us, how God gets our attention, how God communicates with us, and how to listen to God and enjoy His presence.
